DIY Crescent Moon Wreath Glow-Up: Turn Your Old Wreath into a Magical Masterpiece!

Who says your old wreath has to stay… well, old? This holiday season, I decided to give mine a total glow-up, turning it into a whimsical crescent moon shape with leftover decorations from my Yule garland.

Here’s how I took my plain old wreath and gave it a little holiday sparkle. Ready for some crafty fun? Let’s go!

What You’ll Need:

  • Old wreath form (any shape will do, but I recommend oval or round for easy shaping)

  • Wire cutters

  • Leftover dried fruit from your Yule garland (or any fruit you’ve dehydrated)

  • Fake flowers (bonus points if you have extras lying around)

  • Hot glue gun and sticks

  • Cinnamon sticks, anise pods, or cloves (if you’ve got them from your garland leftovers)

  • Twine (or wire) to shape your wreath into a crescent

  • Ribbon (optional) for hanging

Step 1: Shape Your Wreath into a Crescent Moon

The first step is getting that crescent moon shape! If you’ve got a round wreath—just cut and gently bend wire into a crescent shape, securing the ends with some twine or wire. Voila! If it’s already oval, you’re halfway there.

Step 2: Fluff It Up with Fake Flowers

Time to add some fake flowers for that full, fluffy look. Start by gluing them along the edges of your crescent moon, layering them for texture. —mix in some greenery for a natural, festive vibe!

Step 3: Repurpose Your Yule Garland Leftovers

Why not reuse those dehydrated fruit slices you made for your garland? Glue the fruit on your wreath—oranges, lemons, whatever you’ve got! Throw in some cinnamon sticks, anise pods, and cloves for that irresistible holiday scent and extra flair. It’s like having a holiday spice shop right on your door.

Step 4: Add Some Final Touches

If you want for extra charm, wrap a ribbon around the top to hang your wreath. A little glitter or faux snow on the flowers and fruit can add some sparkle, but that's totally optional—let your creativity shine!

Step 5: Hang and Admire

Now that your crescent moon wreath is ready, it’s time to hang it! Put it above the fireplace, on your front door, or anywhere that needs some celestial magic. And don’t forget to step back and admire your masterpiece—you turned an old wreath i
