DIY Reindeer: A Fun and Inexpensive Holiday Tradition 🎄🦌
One of my favorite holiday traditions growing up was making DIY reindeer. We didn’t head to a craft store—we went on a scavenger hunt in the woods, looking for logs, branches, and anything we could use to create our reindeer! Today, I’m sharing that fun tradition with you, and it’s easier (and cheaper) than you might think!
Step 1: Scavenge for Supplies 🌲
Head to your backyard, a local park, or your favorite hiking trail to find materials for your reindeer. Look for logs, twigs, pinecones, and branches. You’d be surprised at how many things in nature can help bring your reindeer to life!
Step 2: Gather Your Tools 🔨
You’ll need a few tools: a drill, a nail gun (or regular nails), and wood glue or a hot glue gun. These will help you piece everything together.
Step 3: Build Your Reindeer 🦌
Start by assembling the body, legs, and head using your found materials. Use the drill to make holes and fit the pieces together. Secure everything with glue or nails. You can also add a pair of antlers using smaller branches or twigs!
Step 4: Decorate with Flair 🎀
Now, for the fun part! Raid your craft box (or use things from around the house) to decorate. I love using ribbons, fake flowers, and even a red pom-pom for the nose! 🎅🎄
Step 5: Show It Off! 🌟
Find a place to display your reindeer—whether inside or outside, it’ll bring some extra holiday cheer to your home!
Making DIY reindeer is a simple, fun tradition that’s perfect for the whole family! So grab your supplies and start creating! Happy crafting! ✂️🎉
